Virtues of and lessons within the Month of Ramadan

Ramadan Mubarak

Tonight, many of us will begin our Ibadah and Worship for the Blessed Month of Ramadan and tomorrow we begin our fast, Insha’Allah. There are so many virtues of Ramadan that I have decided to share some each day as a reminder for us all, Insha’Allah.

Alhamdulillah

Allah (Subhanna Wa Ta’Ala) revealed the command to fast in the Month of Ramadan while the Prophet (PBUH) was in Madinah in the second year of Hijrah.

The first two things sent down to us all after the Prophet’s (PBUH)  migration to Madinah:

1. The first being changing the Qiblah towards Makkah instead of Jerusalem.

2. The second being the fasts of Ramadan.

Also…….

Prior to the fasts becoming obligatory for Muslims, the Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) used to seek solitute at Mount Hira during the month of Ramadan.

His Prophethood was revealed during the month of Ramadan.

The Qur’an was revealed during the month of Ramadan.

bismillahirrahmanirrahim

“This is the Book (The Qur’an), whereof there is no doubt, a guidance to those who are Al Muttaqun (the pious and righteous persons who fear Allah much (abstain from all kinds of sins and evl deeds which He has forbidden) and love Allah much (perform all kinds of good deeds which He has ordained)” (Surah Al Baqarah: 2)

Virtue of the day:

Abu Hurairah (RA) narrated that the Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) said: “When Ramadan begins, the gates of Paradise are opened, and the gates of the Hellfire are closed and the devils are chained.(Bukhari and Muslim)
